ESS SIMS

Engaging on absenteeism

SIMS is the UK’s leading management information for schools. It’s a vital tool used by 19,000 schools across every aspect of their work, helping them to improve attainment, manage their finances and maintain effective safeguarding.

The team behind SIMS is constantly innovating, and with the system’s Next Gen technology emerging, the challenge was to illustrate how its latest improvements would deliver benefits for school communities.

To do this, we gathered data on absenteeism – a persistent issue for schools, and one that can have a severe impact on students’ learning and self-confidence. We worked with the team to create Engaging on Absenteeism, a report exploring the scale of absenteeism, drawing on data from teachers and school leaders and industry experts in the sector. Shedding light on the causes and effects of absenteeism, the report illustrated how SIMS Next Gen technology can provide support for schools – via means including the latest AI systems. The report, and related campaign helped to reconfirm SIMS’ status as leaders in their market.
