We're a well-established communications agency with a particular speciality in professional and financial services. Both IQ and EQ are important to us when it comes to recruitment and we've put together a 20-strong team who are razor sharp, hard-working and, well, just nice.

Doing the right thing is important to us too. Last year we gave around £100,000 worth of consultancy to pro-bono projects, like the #FreePeriods campaign.

Our lovely office is in Clerkenwell, a stone's throw from Exmouth Market.

Oh, and we're independent which means we aren't constrained by a faceless parent company when it comes to promotions, bonuses and fantastic staff perks!

About the role

At Farrer Kane, Senior Account Executives really are quite senior. They sit above Account Executives and PR Assistants and, as a result, take on fewer admin tasks compared to SAEs at other agencies.

They are, in most cases, the day-to-day contact for clients.

Our SAEs are expected to really understand the sectors in which their clients operate. Whether it's having a working knowledge of a law firm's competitors, understanding the issues faced by the UK's biggest Ed-tech firm or treating a public sector or charity client with the appropriate sensitivity - getting up to speed, and quickly, matters.

Media relations plays an important part of the day-to-day, and SAEs are expected to be confident in their communication with journalists, be that in-person or remotely.

SAEs do a fair amount of writing and will be expected to produce the more nuanced and complex client reports. There is an expectation that SAEs review the first draft of press releases and blogs alongside social content.

We're a really entrepreneurial agency, so SAEs can be as involved in new business as they like. From helping in the initial phases to going to pitches, we place real value on this role.

Our SAEs also attend client and networking events, triage any client issues, know when to delegate and when to 'refer up'.

About you

We like engaging people with a positive, can-do attitude.

You'll need to be tuned-in into the news agenda, well organised and good at coming up with ideas. We expect you'll have at least one to two years' worth of PR/comms agency experience, but we are open to candidates with different backgrounds.

It goes without saying that you're professional, polite and ambitious. But it's also incredibly important that you don't take yourself too seriously and are happy to de-compress with the rest of the team at the right moments.
