Beth began her communications career at Grandfield, a large corporate and financial agency. Here she worked across multiple account teams gaining exposure to a range of clients including major corporates, financial institutions and international law firms.
She then helped launch a specialist legal consultancy before being recruited by Spada, where she was tasked with developing the firm's professional services practice. She was made a Board Director of the agency in 2009. Over the last 11 years Beth has advised clients across a range of issues from handling the media element of merger communications to corporate positioning and crisis management.
Alex entered the world of communications straight after University when he founded the film production company, Ratnaike & Kane. This allowed for many creative adventures from filming the Tamil Tigers in Sri Lanka to putting on interactive art events with a crew of London graffiti artists.
Following a spell in New York and time in the world of headhunting, Alex joined Spada, a PR agency focusing on the professional services sector. During his 12 year stint, Alex honed his media relations, branding and communications skills on a range of clients across the property, construction, environmental and corporate sectors. He was Managing Director of the agency from 2009-2012.
Jonathan brings Farrer Kane outstanding experience in advising teams and individuals on strategic planning and business development, drawing on his board level experience with global organisations and leading consulting firms.
Alongside Jonathan’s non-executive directorship at Farrer Kane, he is currently Chief Strategy Officer at Pearson, the world's largest education company. Prior to this role Jonathan was Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer at Kantar, where, as part of the global executive committee, he led on a number of areas including business planning, organisational development and change, and digital strategy.
His career spans senior level roles at consultancies Tyler Mangan, Heidrick & Struggles and KPMG Consulting, as well as innovative global companies including market research firm TNS, where he was Chief Commercial Officer and Director of Strategy & Communication.
Jonathan’s insight and passion for supporting organisations going through rapid transformation and growth is of invaluable support to Farrer Kane.
After a brief stint in market research, Clo's career in communications began at a PR agency specialising in financial and professional services. She then moved to Fishburn, a top 20 communications consultancy, where she advised clients including BT, the BBC and the Department for Transport, on issues ranging from media and stakeholder relations to crisis management and corporate social responsibility.
Clo joined Farrer Kane in 2013 as an Associate Director and works across both B2B and B2C accounts.
Head of Content
Helen began working in corporate communications over 15 years ago and has both in agency and in house experience. She has devised and run campaigns for clients across a number of sectors including legal, property and the wider B2B market. Post her initial spell in a London professional services agency, she moved in house to the corporate communications department at English Heritage where she ran external communications for national projects as well as for three of the organisation's local teams.
Helen now works as Head of Content where she undertakes research, digital and copywriting tasks on a range of B2B and B2C campaigns.
Charlotte has many years’ experience helping corporate clients devise the communications strategy they need to hit their business objectives. She has undertaken a range of remits from creating brand-shifting media relations campaigns through to advising on the communication aspects of merger or crisis scenarios. She has overseen campaigns across professional media with significant experience of communication planning and strategy, content creation and delivery, as well as undertaking client research, thought leadership reports and perception audits.
Charlotte has a particular understanding of clients working within the professional services and built environment sectors having advised clients including the likes of global law firms Withers and Jones Day, top 20 accountancy firm Saffery Champness through to real estate organisations such as ludlowthomson.
Charlotte started her career as a trainee accountant before moving in to the communications sector, joining a boutique professional services agency. She later spent six years at a mid-sized B2B agency where as Account Director she led the strategy and day-to-day account management for clients across a range of sectors, including legal, accountancy and property.
Ann helps clients with all their print and online content needs.
Ann has over 10 years’ experience in professional services marketing, gained in magic circle, US and UK law and accountancy firms. Her expertise includes providing impactful copy for pitches, presentations, brochures and other marketing materials; press releases, award and directory submissions; and online and social media content. In addition to extensive copywriting experience, Ann also accrued considerable experience working closely with partners on practice- and firm-wide marketing and business development strategy and planning.
She has also significant recent experience working with start-ups, SAAS companies and high-end luxury brands on their online content, email marketing, presentations and pitch messaging.
Ann produces effective, sophisticated content for a range of Farrer Kane clients.
Senior Account Manager
Poppy works across a diverse range of clients and service lines at Farrer Kane: from helping B2B firms within the legal, engineering and property sectors build their brands via professional and earned media campaigns to working on B2C public relations and awareness campaigns for high-profile consumer clients.
She has a wealth of experience both advising clients and leading team delivery. She is well versed in the full spectrum of media relations, including content creation and delivery, strategy and planning, copywriting, social media engagement and campaign execution. She has particular expertise in helping brands build their profile via broadcast relations and is adept at building content packages that work for TV and radio.
Poppy got her first taste of communications during her time at Cambridge University, when she secured an internship with one of Scotland's largest PR agencies. Post-graduation she followed this with an internship at a London marketing agency where she gained exposure to a number of communication disciplines from copywriting to brand strategy.
Caroline works with many different clients at Farrer Kane, running brand building accounts across a range of sectors including legal, property and engineering. She helps provide clients with various service lines, from content creation and increasing their media footprint through to advising on design projects.
Through previous experience at several agencies include Brunswick and Blue Rubicon, Caroline developed a keen interest in brand strategy and research projects. Learning about communication in her anthropology degree at the University of Manchester inspired her to pursue a career in the industry.
Caroline is currently on a sabbatical, returning in 2020.
With experience in offering strategic communications advice to clients across a range of sectors, from global professional service firms through to early-stage start-ups, Max runs a number of brand-building and media relations campaigns.
In addition to extensive B2B communications experience, Max also works with a number of consumer brands, growing profile through print and broadcast media alongside engaging social media campaigns. In addition, Max has also overseen national campaigns, including the recent lobbying of a cabinet minister that was backed by a number of high-profile banking figures.
An avid writer, Max regularly contributes to the agency’s content and social media channels, as well as providing ghost-written articles for a variety of clients on a range of topics, from developments in data privacy law through to the latest trends in workplace design and youth finance.
Sophie runs a number of brand building campaigns across a range of sectors, including legal and property. Managing both B2B and B2C clients, she has experience working on a range of initiatives - from helping take a new brand to market, through to building a sustained profile via earned media.
Sophie works with a number of professional services firms helping them create content that results in top tier media coverage and greater brand awareness, as well as delivering content that can fuel direct outreach and marketing. She has an extensive black book of media contacts across broadcast, national and trade media.
She is adept at devising and running B2C campaigns requiring content that can be atomised across a range of channels as well as building brand recognition via earned media; for example, working with a high-end flexible workspace provider, Sophie manages a social media campaign that both engages with consumers and builds the brand’s industry voice.
Sophie first developed her passion for communications when working on social media and community engagement projects for a Kenyan charity that supports female education. Prior to joining Farrer Kane, she also worked in an HR and in-house communications role for a national construction company.
Senior Account Executive
Holly has gained experience in many aspects of communications, starting at firstlight PR where she was introduced to media relations, content creation and how to build insight-led awareness campaigns. She was then exposed to a new world of public relations when the agency was acquired by Cello Health, a larger company with global reach. This gave her the opportunity to obtain significant experience in project management through a number of events and service launches.
Clients of note span the NHS, private health and charity sectors, as well as pharmaceuticals, in which she has led on projects such as a European-wide employee support programme and a creative, media-focused disease awareness campaign. Holly’s passion for the industry initially kindled during a year spent working in the communications team for a large pharmaceutical company, where she worked on the roll-out of new branding which involved engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
With Farrer Kane Holly will draw on her healthcare experience working with clients in med-tech as well as applying her knowledge to B2B clients operating in the professional services and built environment sectors.
Senior Account Executive
Before joining Farrer Kane, Matthew worked closely with the CFO of a multi-national printing company, based in London. Whilst there he developed a keen commercial awareness, through dealing with foreign clients, working on the modernisation of a subsidiary company and writing company policy documents. His interest in media relations and current affairs, combined with the opportunity to interact with individuals at the forefront of their professions led him to pursue a career with Farrer Kane.
His work at the agency predominantly involves gaining top-tier earned media coverage and assisting in wider creative campaigns for a number of professional services firms and property consultancies.
He supports clients across both B2B and B2C sectors, delivering results on campaigns which range from promoting residential and commercial developments, to large corporate acquisitions, product launches and rebrands.
Whilst studying psychology at the University of Nottingham, Ines interned at Bell Pottinger and FTI Consulting, where her responsibilities included researching client media profiles and events planning. The internships were an opportunity for her to explore her passion for communications and develop key skills in media relations. Through her degree, Ines developed strong research skills and a concise writing style, as well as an understanding of why people behave the way they do.
Guided by her interest in writing, Ines joined Farrer Kane ready to build upon her previous experience in communications. She works with clients from both B2B and B2C accounts, across engineering to personal finance sectors.
Tom works across a variety of client accounts, particularly in the legal and technology sectors, and has been involved in multiple brand launches and relaunches while at Farrer Kane, working with clients to craft and promote their offer via multi-channel campaigns.
Tom is also involved in a number of the agency’s B2B and B2C social media campaigns and often contributes ghost-writing for clients across a diverse range of topics, drawing on his time spent studying English literature at the University of Cambridge.
Having previously worked as an English-language journalist in Bogotá, Colombia, Tom has experience in working to deadlines, communicating with varied stakeholders and in writing engaging copy.
Eleanor gained valuable communications experience at a global B2B transport technology company, in a fast-paced customer-facing role. From producing operational reports for high-profile clients, to managing complaints and fielding emails and calls, Eleanor’s role on the UK Service Desk was very varied. Eleanor has a sharp eye for detail that was put to great use in proofreading crucial bids for the company. In dealing with complex technical faults as well as complaints, she gained experience in crisis communication and became confident at building positive customer relations.
Eleanor graduated with a 2.1 in English from the University of Cambridge where she had the chance to pursue her love of literature. During her time at university she developed a keen interest in media through several positions on student newspapers where she had the opportunity to flex her creative muscles as well as gaining editorial experience. An interest in media communications, a passion for the written word honed by her English degree, as well as experience in B2B communication encouraged Eleanor to pursue a career in PR.
Before joining Farrer Kane, Barbora tutored English GCSE and completed an internship at a well-known family law firm, a role which included developing an understanding of the firm’s marketing and PR strategy and conducting legal research. This helped shape her interest in the education and professional services sectors and confirmed her interest in a career in communication. Barbora works on a number of B2B and B2C campaigns, for clients operating across a range of sectors including, property, construction, law and education.
Prior to joining Farrer Kane, Barbora studied English Language and Literature at the University of Oxford, and graduated with First Class honours. While at university, she was part of the fundraising team for The Isis Magazine, where she organized and promoted events using a variety of channels, including social media. Her degree nurtured her passion for writing and attentiveness to language, which she now puts to good use on behalf of the agency’s clients.
Isabella graduated from Durham University, where she gained a First Class Honours degree in Ancient History. During her studies, Isabella developed her writing, research and analytical skills, giving her a knack for handling complex information and telling compelling stories. Alongside her academic work, Isabella participated in several volunteering projects, including teaching English in China as part of a cultural exchange programme. Isabella honed her writing skills in the editorial department of APL Media, where she worked on editorial features and reviewed branded content. Her exposure to the world of media inspired her to pursue a career in communications as a means of using and building on her talent for writing. Isabella works across a range of clients, including those in the health, property, construction and non-profit sectors.
Alex brings a range of relevant skills and experience to his role at Farrer Kane. He completed an internship in Manchester with a global communications firm working in public affairs in the property and construction sectors, and prior to that enjoyed running and maintaining the social media accounts of a Birmingham-based company.
Alex graduated from Newcastle University with a 2.1 in Politics and Business, where he pursued his passion for politics, established a keen eye for detail in research, and enhanced his verbal and written communication skills. A natural team player, Alex participated in various sports collectives while cementing himself as a key member of the Newcastle University debating society.
Alex began an internship at Farrer Kane before winning a permanent role with the agency. Alex works with B2B and B2C clients across property and legal sectors.
Melissa brings a wealth of administration, front of house and office co-ordination expertise to the team, which she developed within a range of roles travelling and working in Australia. She has experience working in sectors including luxury fashion, recruitment and telecommunications.
Melissa graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a degree in languages (Italian & French) and went on to develop her communication and interpersonal skills with a teaching position in Italy, and a customer facing role at Scottish distillery, Deanston Whisky.
Melissa manages the smooth running of the office, assists the team on a range of client and operational tasks and is a dab hand at organising social events.
Having graduated from university as a D&AD student award winner, Mark began his career in London working for SEA Design, a highly respected design consultancy. During this time he honed his craft as a graphic designer working in the fields of branding, the arts and publishing.
Dudley spent his formative years in West Sussex, where he showed an early and close dedication to the natural and built environment, with a particular passion for reporting on the county’s vertical street furniture.
His talents soon led him to seek broader horizons. At Farrer Kane, his nose for a good story has quickly made him a great asset to the team, where his uncanny ability to sniff out every possible angle is much appreciated. He is a gifted listener, hearing the rustle of issues relevant to Farrer Kane clients at great distances.
One of Dudley’s key areas of interest is keeping workplace stress to an absolute minimum, to ensure the Farrer Kane team is the most focused and productive it can be. He advocates regular exercise, and the occasional power nap to clear the build up of tension.
